RANDOLPH — The new north Riley County EMS station is set to be complete in October, officials said Thursday.
Josh Gering, EMS assistant director, updated county commissioners on the construction project.
Commissioners met in Randolph this week as part of a quarterly outreach meeting.
Gering spoke about two EMS projects: the north county EMS station and the public safety headquarters.
The current work of the north county building includes new insulation, interior termite treatment, changes to the driveway, new wiring from Riley County’s IT personnel, and sheet rock, which is being installed and will be finished next week.
Project completion is estimated to be Oct. 13 and was delayed because of some supply chain issues and coordination with subcontractors.
As previously reported by The Mercury, Riley County commissioners approved a $14 million renovation plan for the Riley County EMS headquarters, which has been a goal of the EMS department since October of 2021.
The EMS headquarters design is completed and has been sent to engineering. The construction contract has also been finalized.
