INCIDENTS
Police reported theft at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Thurston State when a 22-year-old man said someone stole his blue Trek mountain bike. The loss is about $570.
Officers reported theft at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Bluemont Avenue when a 21-year-old woman stole about $1,330 cash from registers at Walmart. The crimes occurred between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19.
Police reported theft at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Eureka Terrace. A 37-year-old woman said someone broke into her storage unit and stole furniture, diapers, chairs and a table. The person of interest also stole a children’s climber set, sanitary products, a computer, a train set and a weedeater for a total loss of about $5,800.
Officers arrested Moisemax Cruz, 30, of Manhattan, at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday on a Riley County District Court warrant for violating probation. This warrant originally stems from charges of three counts of domestic battery. Cruz is held at Riley County jail on $5,000 bond.
Police arrested Eladio Alvaraz Jr., 44, of Manhattan, at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday on a Riley County District Court warrant for interference with law enforcement while already held at Riley County jail. This warrant stems from an Aug. 8 incident where Alvarez resisted arrest. Alvarez is still in jail with a $5,000 bond.
Officers arrested Kade Schulze, 28, of Clay Center, at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on two Riley County District Court warrants for failing to appear in court. These warrants stem from original charges of theft and and running from police. Schulze is held at Riley County jail on $32,000 bond.
Police arrested Brady Reed, 27, of Wamego, at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday for perjury, violation of a protection order and three counts of violating the Offender Registration Act. Reed is held at Riley County jail on $22,000 bond.
Officers arrested Wendell Parrish, 40, of Manhattan, at about 7 p.m. Thursday on a Riley County District Court warrant for violating probation. He’s held at Riley County jail on $10,000 bond.
