Engelken-Cervenka said she finds it important that parents are supported in their children’s education. She wants children to have the best possible schooling so they’re ready for life.
“I think it’s important that parents come first in regards to their children as taxpayers, and that the school board should be a service to the success of children: from nutrition, to education, to preparation for the future, ” Engelken-Cervenka said.
Engelken-Cervenka joins seven other candidates for school board who aren’t currently sitting on the board: co-director of McRel International Katie Allen, former Radio Shack owner Frank Beer and military veteran Robert Busby, Chick-fil-A shift lead Nolan Foth, stay-at-home mom Courtney Jane Hochman, retired principal Greg Hoyt and librarian Audrey Swartz are running as well. Kristin Brighton and Curt Herrman are running to retain their school board positions.
