Motorola Edge 30 was a hit last year, thanks to its 6.5-inch OLED screen, 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, good mid-range performance, 50MP triple primary camera, 32MP selfie camera, and 4020 mAh battery.

Having said that, let’s now turn our attention to the Edge 40, shall we?

  • 6.55-inch Full HD+ P-OLED with 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio or ~402 ppi density
  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • HDR10+
  • 1200 nits (peak) brightness
  • Fingerprint sensor (under display, optical)
  • IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes)
  • Glass front, aluminium frame, plastic back or eco-leather back

  • Android 13 operating system
  • Dual-sim and 5G connectivity
  • April 2023 expected release date
  • 600 Euro or ~650 USD estimated price tag

The Edge 40, expected to be released next month, is said to be sporting a 6.55-inch Full HD+ P-OLED screen with an insanely high 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ technology and a very bright 1200 nits (peak) brightness. Then there’s also the IP68 certification which makes the smartphone dust & water resistant. The aluminium body and plastic back further add to its aesthetic values.

Under the hood of the Edge 40 will be the mid-range Dimensity 8020 chipset that will also come with an 8GB of memory. You should be able to get a good and smooth experience while manning the device. Games and apps should be fast enough.

Moving on to the camera side of things, it will be equipped with a 50MP+13MP+2MP triple primary camera with slew of features and functions. The OIS or optical image stabilization is a much sought-after feature, which puts it right on top of things. The 32MP selfie camera then makes the package complete.

Storage-wise, you get to choose either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Whichever you choose, bear in mind that there won’t be an expansion slot.

In terms of battery, there will be a 4440 mAh battery supplying the necessary juice to this device. Theoretically, it should be able to power up the Edge 40 for two days of charge. And when the time comes to plug it in, the 68W wired charger will get it up to speed in no time at all.

Finally, we have the latest Android 13 operating system, dual-sim capability and 5G connectivity on board the Edge 40 which is great news indeed.

Conclusion:

Motorola Edge 40 is a timely addition from last year’s offerings. There’s a host of upgrades and updates, but it comes along with a higher price tag. If you don’t think the time is right to upgrade just yet, you might want to skip this.

Motorola Edge 40 is said to be released in April 2023 with an estimated price tag of 600 Euro or ~650 USD. Four amazing colors await you: Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, Eclipse Black, and Viva Magenta.
