Realme 10: 6.4-inch smartphone with Super AMOLED screen, Helio G99, 50MP dual primary camera, 16MP selfie camera, 5000 mAh battery and Android 12

Looking for a mid-range smartphone with decent specs? Then let’s take a look at the upcoming Realme 10 which will be released by end of this month.

Fast forward to today, we now have the Realme 9i which is roaring for some action in this New Year. Check out the specs below:

Realme 9i was a very affordable mid-range smartphone that offers great value for money. Coming in with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ screen IPS, 90Hz refresh rate, good mid-range performance, 50MP triple primary camera, 16MP selfie camera, huge 5000 mAh battery and Android 11 operating system is a good deal. But there won’t be any 5G if that’s a show-stopper.

Now then, let’s turn our attention to the Realme 10 shall we?

The Realme 10 will be sporting a ‘regular-sized’ 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED with 90Hz refresh rate and a high 1000 nits brightness, which makes for a good viewing pleasure. Throw in the Gorilla Glass protection, and this smartphone can withstand falls along the way.

Underneath the hood of the Realme 10 is the mid-range Helio G99 chipset, fast octa-core processor, good graphics and either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. Considering the price difference isn’t that big, guess its better to go for the 8GB variant. Having said that, this combination will make easy work of your daily dose of apps and games that are available out there.

Moving on to the camera side of things, the Realme 10 is coming with a 50MP+2MP dual primary camera that is somewhat strange – considering that its predecessor came with a 50MP+2MP+2MP triple primary camera.

Seems like we are moving backwards a little bit over here. Luckily it comes with a 16MP selfie camera which should be good enough to cater for all your selfies.

Storage-wise, the Realme 10 gets plenty of option. You can choose either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of internal space which is good. Even then, should you need more space, just pop in a microSDXC card and you are good to go.

As for the battery, the 5000 mAh rated battery should be more than enough to power up the device for a good day or two in between charging. When the time comes to plug it in, the Fast battery charging can easily take it up to 50% in just 28 minutes.

With the latest Android 12 operating system arriving right out of the box, this makes the Realme 10 having the necessary software to complement its hardware.

But do take note that this smartphone does not have 5G connectivity, which might be a deal-breaker to some.

                       

Conclusion:

Realme 10 is not necessarily a budget smartphone given its mid-range offerings. In some cases, it takes a step behind, for example its dual primary camera. And in other cases, there’s no upgrade to be seen – it still comes without 5G as per its predecessor. You will be hard pressed to upgrade if you already have the Realme 9, which is much cheaper when it was first released.
