Google Pixel 6 is an excellent choice last year with its 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen, 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, amazing protection, great performance, great 50MP+12MP dual primary camera, 8MP selfie camera, large storage, and large battery capacity. Not to mention its attractive pricing.

With that in mind, let’s look at its successor – the Pixel 7.

  • 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED with 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio or ~418 ppi density
  • 90Hz refresh rate
  • HDR10+

A quick glance through the Pixel 7, you can see that there’s not much difference compared to its predecessor. There’s the 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with fast 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and great all-round protection thanks to the IP68 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus.

In terms of performance, you can expect the Pixel 7 to be right up there with the big boys. It will be blessed with the Google Tensor G2 chipset paired with a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and 8GB RAM. There’s just nothing that can slow down this beast.

Camera-wise, there’s nothing fancy here. Just a very good dual 50MP+12MP primary camera that is loaded with greatness. Here you can be sure of a great point-and-shoot camera experience. Then there’s also the 11.1MP selfie camera providing its prowess to cater for all your selfie needs.

Moving on to the storage side of things, the 128GB or 256GB internal storage should do just fine for most users. In case things get a little tight, you may have to do some spring cleaning every now and then. Or choose to go with cloud storage.

With a 4700 mAh battery supplying the necessary juice to the Pixel 7, it can easily last for a good day or two in between charging. When the time comes to plug it in, 30 minutes is all it takes to get it up to 50% of charge.

Finally, the fact that the Pixel 7 is coming with the latest and plain vanilla Android 12 operating system – this will ensure it running buttery smooth without any of those bloatware’s that are out there.

Conclusion:

Google Pixel 7 continues where they left off last year. With nothing much to improve, last year’s users might not see the incentive for them to upgrade.

Google Pixel 7 is said to be released in October 2022 with an estimated price tag of 599 USD for the 128GB internal storage. You get to choose from three colors, namely Obsidian, Lemongrass or Snow.
