The Nothing Phone (1) looks good on paper with its decently sized 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with 1 billion colors, high 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ technology and brightness that can go up to 1200 nits. Then there’s also Gorilla Glass protection all around it that you will find useful in times of need. To round it up, the IP53 certification makes it splash, water and dust resistant as well.

One of the cool things about the Nothing Phone (1) is on its exterior look which looks very bare.

But throw in the multiple LED lights and blinking red light on the back makes for a head-turner for sure.

Under the hood of the Nothing Phone (1) the Snapdragon 778+ chipset paired with a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and either 8GB or 12GB RAM. It will blaze through any apps or games that you can find and still have some more left in the tank.

Camera-wise, the Nothing Phone (1) is blessed with a very powerful 50MP+50MP double primary camera setup that is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Coupled with the 16MP selfie camera, you have a winner over here.

Storage options are aplenty with models that are equipped with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Since there’s no expansion slot, just go with the highest variant that you can afford.

Moving on to the software side of things, it will also debut Nothing OS which is based on the latest Android 12 operating system. The jury is still out there, but initial reports have been good indeed.

With a 4500 mAh battery supplying the necessary juice to the Nothing Phone (1), it can easily power up the smartphone for at least a day or two in between charging. There’s also a host of other features such as wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, and it will only take 70 minutes to charge it to 100%.

Finally, the dual sim and 5G feature further adds more value to an already value-for-money device.

Conclusion:

Nothing Phone (1) is a new challenger in the smartphone industry that is highly sought after. It brings back the memories of when OnePlus first entered the market without any huge fanfare, but look at where they are now. A tremendous debut by them and let’s hope for more good things ahead.

Nothing Phone (1) had just been released on July 12th with a price tag of 469 Euro or ~469 USD for the 128GB internal storage + 8GB RAM variant, 499 Euro or ~499 USD for the 256GB internal storage + 8GB RAM variant and 549 Euro or ~549 USD for the 256GB internal storage + 12GB RAM variant. You can choose to go for either White or Black color.
