GenusPlus Group revolutionises field service with industry-leading integration strategy

ASX-listed field services specialists do away with clunky technician platforms and create its own complex platform only MuleSoft could integrate

MuleSoft, provider of the world’s #1 integration and API platform, today announced that ASX-listed integrated field services provider GenusPlus Group, has teamed up with MuleSoft to revolutionize field services with an advanced construction and workforce capacity planning platform.

A field services app technicians want to use

GenusPlus is one of the leading services providers in the design, construction and maintenance of electricity transmission, electricity distribution and telecommunications infrastructure above and below ground.

Together with MuleSoft, since August 2021, GenusPlus has developed InGenus, a customer service mobile application for field technicians with user experience at the forefront. InGenus is currently used by one of Australia’s largest retailers, and a rollout has commenced in a leading enterprise-grade power and telecommunications company.

GenusPlus needed integration

Field services platforms are often criticised for their poor usability and user experience due to improper integration, which is why GenusPlus and MuleSoft set out to build the platform with the customer experience in mind.

InGenus is a comprehensive platform featuring a range of modern features field technicians expect, such as AI-based optimisations, real-time inventory management and advanced predictive analytics tools. It also includes a field operations framework that allows for constant contact with staff in the field.

The solution simultaneously manages multiple workflows, requiring an integrated system that allows for components to be reused as an inherent part of its design and the ability to scale up as  workflow volumes increase.

Field technicians previously used manual processes across multiple devices to receive and enter job completion details. They can now complete their work sign-offs using a single, fully integrated application that does the same task.

The mobile application ensures documents are immediately accessible to field staff and dispatchers, using real-time geolocation tracking and status updates to track job progress.

Job creation is automated based on work types and guides dispatchers and field staff through the required steps to complete tasks quickly and consistently.

Given its complexity, GenusPlus needed a robust enterprise-grade integration layer to connect all of these components, and MuleSoft was the only platform that could fulfill these requirements. GenusPlus now considers the integration capabilities MuleSoft provides as its key competitive advantage.

“Genus needed a vendor that had the technical prowess and capabilities to assist us in integrating a very complicated IT stack so we could provide the customer experiences we envisioned with our platform. Working with a leading vendor like MuleSoft, Genus can deliver a complete solution like the InGenus app that leverages insights and data throughout the entire organisation that we already had,” said David Riches, Managing Director at Genus.
