Multi-Domain Social Networking Tool Puts IT Channel, Vendors, and Internal IT Support on Same Page

ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced support for multiple domains in ITPulse, the industry's first private social network built exclusively for IT support teams.

The updated version allows the IT support team at a business to securely and privately collaborate with their IT systems integration and vendor partners. Information is shared privately and securely, consolidated onto a single wall that offers a cascading real-time display of IT infrastructure health and conversations.

This helps the IT team to stay in touch and engage in discussions with subject matter experts, from anywhere, and at anytime. It also offers the opportunity to speed up the resolution of technical problems, and improve skills transfer and training.

Alex D Paul, Director - ITSM Products at ManageEngine commented, “ITPulse helps businesses to streamline and open up the lines of communications between their internal IT departments and their IT service providers and vendor suppliers. Information from IT management systems can be automatically updated and shared, ensuring everyone is always working from the latest data. ITPulse can help organisations to improve the flow of knowledge into and within their IT support team, and greatly enhance access to external specialist skills.”

ITPulse allows easy integration with widely used IT management tools from ManageEngine, BMC, CA, HP, and IBM. User actions and IT performance data can be immediately and automatically posted on the ITPulse wall - a much faster and more reliable process than manually distributing information via email or telephone communications.

In addition to enabling collaboration with external providers, some large organisations face IT support challenges due to corporate separation into multiple divisions and subsidiaries. The resulting fragmentation and isolation can interfere with knowledge and skills transfer as each IT team focuses on its own business unit. In turn, each team is left to "reinvent the wheel" when solving issues and challenges that have already been addressed by other teams within the company.

The new multi-domain support in ITPulse ensures that all IT teams have access to a common wall, enabling them to easily share knowledge and discuss IT issues, projects, and capacity planning.

"ITPulse originally restricted sign-ups to just one domain as a security consideration," said Dev Anand, director of product management at ManageEngine. "However, that single domain support meant large enterprises had no way of bringing in business units with different email IDs onto a single social networking platform. We've enhanced ITPulse to solve this problem by enabling administrators to define and accept sign-ups from different email domains across their business units."
